Water Treatment
for Mining Projects
Plan treatment for sediment-laden mine site water. Explore TigerFloc options based on your water sample, operating conditions and project requirements.
Start with the water on your site.
TigerFloc helps fine suspended particles bind into larger flocs that can be separated from water. A representative sample helps establish whether this approach suits your mine site’s water and treatment goals.
1. Test Your Water
Start with a representative sample and share available water-quality results. Jar testing helps assess treatment response and guide dosage selection.
2. Select the Setup
Discuss expected flow, site access and available space with Floc Systems to assess suitable products and a practical treatment arrangement.
3. Mix & Separate
TigerFloc helps fine suspended particles bind into larger flocs. The treatment setup then separates those solids from the water.
4. Check the Results
Evaluate treated water against project requirements before discharge or reuse. Reassess the approach when water conditions or operating flows change.
Build the plan around your operation.
Collected runoff, excavation water and reclamation work can present different treatment needs. Identify the water source and what needs to be removed, then plan around the conditions on site.
- Water characteristics: share available results for sediment, turbidity, pH and other relevant constituents.
- Flow and variability: account for rainfall, seasonal changes and changes in the work area.
- Access and space: plan equipment placement, hoses and collection of separated solids.
- Treatment objectives: identify the intended discharge or reuse route and its water-quality targets.
Suspended-solids treatment is one part of the assessment. Water containing dissolved contaminants may require additional treatment processes.

Start with a sample
A small-scale test helps you see how your site water responds before planning treatment at project scale.

Review the response
Use test results to guide the treatment approach. Your site’s water quality and flow determine what is appropriate.

Water Quality Management at Skeena Gold Mine
Skeena Gold Mine used TigerFloc loose flocculant and flocculant belts to support its overall water quality management program.
Applications included trench water treatment and maintaining water clarity in stormwater management ponds. The two product formats supported sediment management in different areas of the mine site.
This project demonstrates how TigerFloc products can be incorporated into a mine’s broader approach to managing site water and stormwater.
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR MINING PROJECT
