Water Treatment
for Pipeline Projects
Plan for sediment-laden water from trench dewatering and pipeline construction. Explore TigerFloc treatment options built around your water, flow and work site.
From turbid water to a treatment plan.
TigerFloc helps fine suspended particles bind into larger flocs that can be separated from water. For pipeline projects, the starting point is a representative sample and a clear picture of the dewatering operation.
1. Test Your Water
Start with a representative water sample. Jar testing helps assess how your water responds to treatment and guides dosage selection.
2. Select the Setup
Discuss water volume, flow and available space with the Floc Systems team to choose suitable products and a treatment approach.
3. Mix & Separate
TigerFloc helps fine suspended particles bind into larger flocs. The treatment setup then separates those solids from the water.
4. Check the Results
Assess treated water against your project’s requirements before discharge or reuse. Treatment performance depends on the water and operating conditions.
Plan for each stage of the pipeline route.
Water conditions can change as excavation moves through different soils and locations. A treatment setup should account for the water being collected, the expected flow and the space available at each work area.
- Trench dewatering: assess suspended sediment in water pumped from excavations.
- Runoff collection: plan for rainfall and changing water volumes around active work areas.
- Site access and space: allow room for equipment, hoses and separated solids.
- Water quality targets: establish testing and discharge requirements before treatment begins.

Start with a sample
A small-scale test helps you see how your site water responds before planning treatment at project scale.

Review the response
Use test results to guide the treatment approach. Your site’s water quality and flow determine what is appropriate.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Water treatment for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.
From large-volume batch treatment to localized water management on a major infrastructure project.

Pipeline infrastructure
Trans Mountain Expansion Project
Floc Systems was the exclusive flocculant provider for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project, supporting water treatment at both large and small scales.
TigerFloc was applied in raw form to treat large batches of water, including water held in ponds. It was also used in smaller applications within swales and tanks, providing pretreatment before water was released back into the natural environment.
The project demonstrates the versatility of TigerFloc, from large-volume batch treatment to localized water management across a major infrastructure project.
